Providing dignity through free clothing to people in need within the Milwaukee community
A transformed community where all people have access to clean, dignified clothing in which they feel confident
Father Gene's Help Center relies on volunteers like YOU to connect people in need with dignified clothing. Volunteers are needed Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
We are always in need of volunteers to keep our front office running smoothly. Office volunteers are often the first face that clients and donors will see when they come to the center. Office volunteers take orders over the phone, accept donations, answer phones and direct calls, and conduct basic data entering.
It takes a strong team of volunteers to keep the center and donations organized. Sorting volunteers unpack donations, organize the clothing by size and style, and restock the racks and shelves.
Personal Shoppers (Pilot Program)
Father Gene's Help Center hopes to move to a personal shopping model in which clients are able to select their own clothing from a selection of donations. We are seeking volunteers who are interested in working one-on-one with our clients and helping us to test this model.
To continue serving over 1000 families each year, we must fill the clothing orders for those in need. Packing volunteers shop around the center for the items requested in the right style and size, and pack the orders for client pick up.
